Information for parents:

The Rock Frog Junior Climbing Club has been established at Brunel University Wall since 2002. The club was founded to enable young people to learn how to climb in a safe, fun environment but more than that we want to give children an environment in which they can:

• Make friends
• Learn how to communicate
• Learn how to negotiate and share
• Take responsibility
• Learn how to be part of a team
• Improve their physical fitness
• Acquire technical skills
• Experience competition
• Question and comprehend

We encourage children to explore the possibilities for a more active lifestyle and we take every opportunity to inform children about fun activities, the need to power the body with good food and the benefits of understanding and appreciating the outdoors.
Children aged 8 – 16 come to the club for a variety of reasons:

• As part of a variety of activities they may do on a Saturday
• As a regular weekly activity
• To Improve their social skills
• To become a Junior Leader
• To complete a climbing module as part of their G.C.S.E.
• As a physical activity element as part of their Duke of Edinburgh Award

The Club meets Saturday (please see calendar for exceptions) and there are up to 4 sessions:

10.00 – 12.00 Open Session
12.00 – 14.00 Open Session
14.15 – 16.15 Open Session / Group Party Session /  Adult, Family Session*
16.30 – 18.30 Group Party Session / Adult, Family Session*

*Please note that the make up of the 3rd and 4th session will vary according to bookings and at quiet times of the year may not run unless there are group bookings.
*For individuals, the 1st and 2nd sessions will be filled first before the other sessions are opened.
Places must be booked for safety reasons (see online booking)

The 2 hour session costs £12.80 per child (£10.00 session cost + £2.80 child wall fees) or £3.80 adult wall fees. Wall entry fees are payable seperately at reception.

• Tokens which can be saved and swapped for gifts
• Rock Frog grade assessment
• Special coaching
• Competition squad
• Real Rock Trips
• Junior Leader training
